Gary Moore

Gary Moore (Robert William Gary Moore) is a British (Northern Irish) guitarist and singer, born on 4 April 1952 in Belfast. Moore started playing at 8 years old, after picking up an acoustic guitar he had salvaged. He got his first proper guitar at the age of 14, and had to learn to play the right-handed instrument, even though he was left-handed. He moved to Dublin in 1968 at the age of 16. His early musical influences are artists like Elvis Presley, The Shadows and The Beatles. Since 1973, he has regularly produced solo albums. Gary Moore died on 6 February 2011 at the age of 58 in his sleep of a heart attack while staying with his partner at the Kempinski Hotel in Estepona on the Costa del Sol. The blood test results indicated a blood alcohol level of 3.8 g/l.
