Sideburn is a Swiss hard rock band founded in 1985 in Yverdon-les-Bains. In 1985 the band was called Genocide and renamed itself Sideburn in 1997. Until 1997, the band had a more heavy metal sound characteristic of 1980s bands such as Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. The band moved toward a more hard rock sound in 1997, with the album Sell Your Soul For Rock'N'Roll. In Hamburg, the band had its first big studio success in 1990 with Roots in Rock. A new lead guitarist, a bassist and a drummer join the band. With these new artists, the rock band records its new album called Crocodile, produced by Jürg Nägeli, a former member of the Swiss band Krokus. In 2005, Sideburn released its first Best Of, called Archives.
