Ghost

Ghost is a Swedish heavy metal band, originally from Linköping. Formed in 2008, its musical style, which blends pop influences with sounds close to hard rock, contrasts with its image, which is closer to the world of black metal. The band's members have the distinction of not having revealed their identity, operating in anonymity and wearing masks on stage. The band has developed a universe inspired by horror cinema and Catholic liturgy. The singer embodies a Satanic Pope, called Papa Emeritus, supported by his disciples, the Nameless Ghouls. The members' outfits, as well as the staging and set design of the concerts, thus reference Satanic mythology and evoke the world of black metal. In addition, the musicians use choirs and lyrics in Latin, recalling Catholic liturgical music.
