Girlschool

Girlschool is an English heavy metal band formed in 1978. It is one of the rare all-female metal bands, and it is the female rock band with the longest existence, still active for over thirty years. It is notably known for its frequent collaborations with Motorhead. In 1978 the band began touring, and released a first single, Take It All Away, on an independent label. Lemmy of Motorhead discovered the song, and invited the band to take part in its 1979 tour, allowing it to sign shortly after with the label Bronze Records. The band released its first album Demolition in June 1980, which reached number 28 on the UK Album Chart, and founded a fan club, The Barmy Army.
