WebsiteGorguts is a technical death metal band from Quebec founded in 1989 by Luc Lemay. The band moved toward avant-garde metal with the album Obscura. In 2002, the suicide of drummer Steve MacDonald led to the band's suspension, until the announcement of its breakup in 2004, as well as the formation by members Luc Lemay and Steeve Hurdle of the band Negativa (which released an EP in 2006). In 2008, Luc Lemay announced a reactivation of Gorguts in parallel. Steeve Hurdle died in May 2012.
