WebsiteGrave Digger (English for the gravedigger) is a traditional heavy metal band of German origin that emerged in the early 1980s. Although it can unquestionably be ranked among the greatest of the metal scene, its commercial success never reflected this. After a few unremarkable appearances at various festivals, the band recorded a song for a compilation called Rock For Hell, in 1983. A year later, our four gravediggers released their first studio piece: Heavy Metal Breakdown. The band reformed in 1991. Chris Boltendahl and Uwe Lulis, supported by 2 newcomers, Tomi Göttlich and Jörg Michael, then released their fourth album The Reaper. This album was a "slap in the face" for a great many fans. It was the true return to roots they had hoped for.

The guys over at Grave Digger, for their part, went for a stiff about as plain as they come. But that doesn't mean it works any less well! Sure, it's less creative, but the general verdict is that skeletons are super classy, right?
