Hanoi Rocks is a Finnish rock band from Helsinki. It was formed in 1979 by Andy McCoy and Michael Monroe. The band split up in 1985 after the death of its drummer Nicholas «Razzle» Dingley in December 1984. Singer Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy reformed Hanoi Rocks in 2001, and were active with the band's new line-up until 2009. After starting their career in Finland then Sweden, the band decided to move to England in order to broaden their audience. They then multiplied small concerts and began to make a name for themselves thanks to the albums Oriental Beat and Self Destruction Blues.
