Hate Eternal

Hate Eternal was formed in 1997. The original line-up consisted of Erik Rutan (guitars/vocals), Jared Anderson (bass/vocals), Tim Yeung (drums), and Doug Cerrito (guitars) from Suffocation. In 2002, Derek Roddy (who had been involved with Nile, Divine Empire and Malevolent Creation) replaced Tim Yeung, and the band recorded their second album, King of All Kings, as a trio with Erik, Jared and Derek. That summer, Erik Rutan left Morbid Angel on good terms, since he wanted to devote more time to Hate Eternal. What followed was a slew of international tours to promote King of All Kings, as well as a video broadcast on MTV2's Headbangers Ball, "Powers That Be". Jared Anderson left the band shortly afterward because of drug problems.
