Hypocras

Hypocras, this folk-viking metal band, started out as a trio in 2005. Arnaud Aebi (flutist and composer) held the reins, seconded by Samuel Jakubec (drummer). The two companions were then accompanied by a guitarist who left the band after the recording of the first album "Hypocras". This album had been recorded as part of Arnaud's maturity project in November 2006. Oscillating between personal compositions and covers of traditional Irish songs, this ultra-melodic album marked the beginning of Hypocras. After the guitarist's departure, Samuel and Arnaud looked for another axeman. Two came and went, but judged too mediocre by the band, they were dismissed after a few months.
