Ivanhoe

Ivanhoe was founded in 1986 by Markus Britsch (keyboards), Giovanni Soulas (bass), Matthias Lorenz (guitar) and Lars Hörnig (drums). The demos Behind the Wall, Written in Stone and Play Express were created with changing line-ups. The first album Visions and Reality was created with the line-up Andy B. Franck (vocals), Chuck Schuler (guitar), Giovanni Soulas (bass), Lars Hönig (drums) and Markus Britsch (keyboards). The album Symbols of Time followed in 1994. Guitarist Schuler surprisingly abandoned the European tour with Nevermore and Iced Earth for personal reasons. Welsch, who had played guitar and sung on the demo Behind the Wall and worked as a live mixer for the band, stepped in without further ado.
