Jaldaboath is a Folk Metal band from the United Kingdom, formed in 2007 in East Sussex. Jaldaboath is an experimental folk/black metal band on a medieval theme, led by Jaldaboath (of Meads of Asphodel fame, whose real name is James Fogarty) with The Mad Monk alias "The Mad Mullah" on drums and Sir Bodrick on bass. They describe their sound as "Hammering Heraldic Metal", "Crusader-core" or "Tumultuous Teutonic Templar Thrash" and draw inspiration from the Knights Templars, the Crusades, Black Adder and Monty Python. Their first EP Hark The Herald was released on 23 April (St George's Day) 2008, and contained 6 tracks. The first batch of orders was also accompanied by a scroll detailing the main knights of the Battle of Hastings.
