John Norum

John Norum, born on 23 February 1964 in Vardø (Norway), is a Norwegian guitarist and songwriter, a member of the Swedish rock band Europe. He also pursues a solo career. John Terry Norum was raised in the suburbs of Stockholm, where he, Joey Tempest, John Leven and Tony Reno formed the band "FORCE" in 1979, after which the band renamed itself Europe. The band recorded three albums: Europe, Wings of Tomorrow and the very famous The Final Countdown. Right after the latter, John Norum left the band, because he felt that the band's musical style had changed far too much, which no longer suited him. Eager to pursue a solo career, he released his first album Total Control in 1987. Four more solo albums followed. John Norum also released an album with Don Dokken and became a member of the band Dokken for two years.
