Jon Oliva’s Pain

John Nicholas Oliva, better known as Jon Oliva, born on 22 July 1960 in New York, is a power metal singer. He is the brother of guitarist Criss Oliva. Jon Oliva is the former singer and one of the founding members of the band Savatage, along with his younger brother, guitarist Criss Oliva. He is also one of the founders and one of the driving forces behind the Trans-Siberian Orchestra project, and he also founded the band Jon Oliva's Pain in 2003, at a time when the band Savatage existed only on paper. Jon Oliva is one of the most distinctive voices of the power metal genre and is one of the first artists to have mixed elements of classical or symphonic music into the structure of a rock or metal band. His voice also inspired and left its mark on the genre, notably the album Hall of the Mountain King.
