WebsiteKrokus is a Swiss hard rock band. Founded in Solothurn in 1975, it had a lot of success in the first half of the 1980s playing a hard rock not unlike that of AC/DC. Their album Headhunter became a platinum album in the United States (more than one million albums sold), and they were named Honorary Citizens of the city of Memphis, Tennessee. In 1980, the first album with Marc Storace as singer bears the title Metal Rendez-Vous. The year 2003 marked the band's comeback with their album Rock the Block, becoming number one for the first time in their country of origin. The band's name is inspired by the kind of plant that grows, notably, in the Swiss Alps, the crocus. Moreover, Krokus literally means "Choke us" in English.
