Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa is a German-Swiss musical project, led since 1990 by the German Tilo Wolff, joined in 1993 by the Finn Anne Nurmi, former keyboardist of Two Witches. It was affiliated with the darkwave movement, before orienting itself from Satura onwards towards a more metal and orchestral style. The band is currently based in Switzerland, but originates from Frankfurt, Germany, Tilo Wolff's native city. It has sold more than 20,000 copies of each of its albums in Germany. It has also managed to win the appreciation of Mexican and Chinese audiences. Tilo Wolff is the thinking soul and the key to the band. Indeed, he composes all of Lacrimosa's music and is notably marked by a wholly recognizable style of composition for the orchestral parts of his music.
