Lingua Mortis Orchestra

The Lingua Mortis Orchestra is the name associated with the orchestras that have accompanied Rage since 1996, on albums or on stage. Lingua Mortis is the first classical album by a German metal band, released in 1996. Their compositions were performed live for the first time in the late summer of 1996 in Kufstein, Austria. Subsequently, Rage and the orchestra embarked on a Christmas tour and played at several European festivals. In March 1998, Rage released their thirteenth album, XIII, with the Lingua Mortis Orchestra, which met with considerable success in the charts. XIII was ranked 272nd in Rock Hard magazine's book of the 500 greatest rock and metal albums of all time.
