Formed in Scarborough, England, in 1984 under the name Mr Thrud by Toby Jepson, Mark Plunkett, Dave Hopper and the brothers Bruce John and Jimmy Dickinson. Following the replacement of Dave Hopper by Michael Lee in '88, Mr Thrud became Little Angels. The band then met Kevin Nixon, who became their manager and signed them under his label Powerstation Records before later signing to Polydor. During the Young Gods tour, Lee was sacked for having auditioned for the band The Cult without consulting the other members. Michael Lee went on to continue the worldwide Ceremony tour with The Cult. Mark Richardson stood in for him during the tours before becoming a permanent member during the recording of the album Jam.
