Midnattsol

Midnattsol is a band associated with goth/folk metal, originating from Germany and Norway. It came into being in 2002. In 2002, singer Carmen Elise Espenæs and guitarist Chris Hector founded the Norwegian folk metal band Midnattsol. Their sound is essentially metal, which they themselves describe as "nordic", though with some folk and gothic influences in its melodies. Their lyrics are largely inspired by Norwegian folk tales. Their first album, Where Twilight Dwells, was released in 2005. In 2008 the second album Nordlys was released, with more polished compositions, a clearer guitar sound, and more elaborate riffs.
