Misery Loves Co shaped the industrial metal scene during the 90s and was acclaimed by the worldwide music press, as well as by many fans. Everyone took the band to heart upon hearing its unique and innovative blend of aggressive industrial metal mixed with mournful melodies and impressive songwriting. Metal Hammer put it well: "If someone were to prescribe a formula for how metal should sound in 1995, it could be described in three words – MISERY LOVES CO."
