Morbid Angel

Morbid Angel originates from Tampa and Florida and was founded in 1983 by guitarist Trey Azagthoth. Their music is a blend, quite unique of its kind, of complexity and brutality. It is one of the flagship bands of the death metal genre along with the bands Possessed, Obituary and Death. In 1986, the band began recording demos in the studio, finally released several years later on the album Abominations of Desolation. However, the band was not satisfied with this recording (which was ultimately issued in 1991, but is to be considered, according to Trey Azagthoth, as a demo and not as an album). The band's first official studio album is Altars of Madness, released in 1989, which achieved immense success on the metal scene. This album gained the band popularity; at the same time it marks the emancipation of death metal.
