Mordor is a Swiss Funeral Doom band, formed in 1990. Mordor ("black land" in Sindarin) is a region of Middle-earth, the fictional universe created by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is mainly described in The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion. The band recorded its first demo, Odes, in 1991. Another demo followed in 1992 and their only EP, Dark Is the Future, in 1994. The band split up in 1996.
