Nashville Pussy

Nashville Pussy were formed in Athens, Georgia, in the United States, by Blaine Cartwright and his wife Ruyter Suys. The band's name refers to the line Ted Nugent says as an introduction to the song Wang Dang Sweet Poontang on the album Double Live Gonzo: "This is a love song I like to dedicate to all that Nashville Pussy". The band quickly stood out from the rock scene in Georgia by playing hard rock and heavy metal blended with sounds evoking Southern rock. The band first played covers of AC/DC, ZZ Top or Kiss, as well as a few of Blaine Cartwright's own compositions.
