Nervecell

Nervecell is an Emirati death metal band, originating from Dubai. The band was formed in 2000 by guitarist Barney Ribeiro. In an early band line-up, notably with Brogan Costa on vocals, Nervecell appeared in 2001 in Abu Dhabi at a Battle of the Bands contest. There they won the prize for best performance and Ribeiro was voted best guitarist. In 2003, after the departure of Costa and other band members, they were joined by other musicians. Rajeh James Khazaal (vocals, bass) and Rami H. Mustafa (lead guitar) joined the band. At the end of 2003, the band recorded a demo tape. Right after, they produced their first EP, Human Chaos (2004). The album gained recognition outside the United Arab Emirates and was distributed, among other places, in Mexico.
