Neurosis

Neurosis is an American doom metal band from Oakland, California. Neurosis inspired many bands such as Isis or Cult of Luna that emerged in the early 2000s. Some members of Neurosis have a very experimental side project named Tribes of Neurot, in which they only play instrumental pieces. These are experiments whose style is very difficult to discern, notably with strong influences from tribal music, combined with very oppressive and dark atmospheres. Neurosis's album Times of Grace can moreover be sonically overlaid with a Tribes of Neurot album, Grace. The two albums were designed so as to complement each other through superposition.
