WebsiteOverkill was formed in 1980 on the ashes of the punk band "The Lubricunts", featuring Rat Skates and DD Verni. Verni and Skates placed an ad looking for a guitarist and singer, which was answered by singer Bobby Ellsworth, and the first incarnation of Overkill was formed. After rejecting several names, including "Virgin Killer", the band finally settled on Overkill. In 1983 the line-up of Rat Skates, D.D. Verni, Bobby Gustafson and Bobby Blitz released the demo The Power In Black. The Power In Black earned the band two appearances on a compilation. Megaforce Records signed Overkill to a multi-album recording contract and released their first album Feel The Fire in 1985. Hailed by many critics and fans as a thrash metal masterpiece.

Chaly
There's not much to say about Chaly; we don't even know where that ridiculous name comes from. He first appeared on the album Under The Influence, released in 1988, and since then has never left the band.
