Pegazus is an Australian heavy metal band originating from Melbourne. The band was formed in late 1993 by guitarist Johnny Stoj and became internationally known in 1998 after signing with Nuclear Blast Records. The band has released five studio albums, the most recent being In Metal We Trust in 2011. Although they appeared at the Wacken Open Air festival and did two tours in Europe, since around 2000, Pegazus has only played in Australia with several shows on the east coast. In August 1998, Pegazus traveled to Germany to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival. The show was remarkable not only because the band was playing outside Melbourne for the first time, but also because they appeared at the festival twice, on the main stage and again on a smaller secondary stage later as a replacement for Darkseed.
