WebsiteIt all begins in 1984 when Peter Wagner forms the band Avenger. After releasing 2 records, the album Prayer of Steel and the EP Depraved to Black, Avenger renames itself Rage and releases the album Reign of Fear. The albums then come out regularly at the rate of one per year, and the band strings together opening slots for concerts with Running Wild, Udo, Motorhead or Saxon. From 1988 and the release of Perfect Man, Rage begins to meet with critical acclaim in Germany. In 1992, the musicians finally obtain international recognition with the album Trapped and a triumphant tour in Japan. Renewed success the following year with The Missing Link. Rage then undergoes a personnel turnover. The new line-up records Lingua Mortis, the first German heavy-metal record to include a symphony orchestra.

Rage's mascot first appears on the album Perfect Man. Since then, it turns up on several covers. The band even went so far as to dedicate an album to it, telling its story, on the album Soundchaser.
