Finely christened Reverend Smith, in a subtle nod to the cunning of a charlatan reverend, this band is made up of crafty old hands who have hit the road and who have not forgotten what rock should never have stopped being: dirty, mean, arrogant and magnificent. Reverend Smith is above all an incisive, carnivorous rock, mixed with the most desperate blues, with carefully crafted lyrics drawn from slices of life. No neo-militarist swagger, no ruffled shirts or excessive make-up, but sweat on worn-out jeans.
