Rhapsody

Rhapsody of Fire is an Italian symphonic metal / epic Power metal band (the band defining itself as the founder of "Hollywood metal"). Before taking the name Rhapsody and then Rhapsody of Fire in 2006, the band was called Thundercross. The band's music is characterized by an "epic" instrumentation favoring musical flights of fancy with tones that are sometimes warlike, sometimes gentler. The lyrics of the first five albums tell a single story, an approach that goes even further than that of the concept album. Some will enjoy the saga and follow the band for its beautiful melodies; others will reproach the band for going too far in the "epic" genre, and for losing its creativity by remaining in one style. On 16 August 2011, a reshuffle of the band was officially announced, with Luca Turilli leaving the line-up.
