Ride the Sky

The band was created in 2006 by Uli Kusch, the former drummer of the bands Helloween, Gamma Ray and Masterplan and current drummer of the band Beautiful Sin, singer Bjørn Jansson and his brother, guitarist Benny Jansson, members of the band Tears of Anger. The band was completed by Mathias Garnås on bass guitar and Kaspar Dahlqvist on keyboards, the latter being quickly replaced by Henning Ramseth. The band's name alludes to a song of the same title by the band Helloween, appearing on their album Walls of Jericho. On the band's only album, New Protection, the band uses elements of power metal, as well as progressive metal, symphonic metal and 1980s hard rock. Following bad reviews, weak sales and a lack of support from the label Nuclear Blast, the band decided to put an end to itself in 2008.
