Sanctuary

Sanctuary is a heavy metal band founded in Seattle in 1985. After a dissolution following musical differences in 1991, the band reformed in 2010. Before playing in Sanctuary, Warrel Dane was the singer of the heavy metal band Serpent's Knight, which released an album in 1983. Jim Sheppard played in a glam metal band called Sleeze, with singer Layne Staley, around 1985. They released a demo in 1986, and its good reception led them to sign a contract with Epic Records in 1987. They released their first album, Refuge Denied, that same year. This album was produced by Dave Mustaine, leader of the thrash metal band Megadeth. Dave Mustaine plays a guitar solo on the track White Rabbit. Sanctuary went on tour with Megadeth and the German band Warlock.
