WebsiteIn 1979, Renaud Hantson (drums and vocals) and Laurent Bernat (bass), hard-rock fans, founded a first band named Jarretelles together with guitarist Benjamin Raffaelli, who would be found in 1983 within Trust. This line-up leading nowhere, they decided to recruit Pierre Guiraud on vocals and Stéphane Bonneau, former guitarist of Stratos, later of Warning. This change of musicians in December 1981 was the occasion for the band to rename itself Satan Jokers, a name inspired in Renaud Hantson by two rival Hell's Angels gangs: the Satan Slaves and the Gypsies Jokers. In 1982, the band recorded its first demo simply titled Satan Jokers and presented in a metal box, and worked its way through many Parisian concert venues in the autumn of 1982.
