Sepultura

Sepultura (literally "grave" in Portuguese) is a Brazilian metal band founded by Max and Igor Cavalera in 1984, in Belo Horizonte. At the end of 1984, they definitively quit their schooling to devote themselves solely to music. They played their first concert that same year, at the Barroliche Club in Belo Horizonte. After multiple changes within the very young band, an initial line-up established itself around singer Wagner Lamounier, bassist Paulo Jr., guitarist Max Cavalera and drummer Igor Cavalera. Due to artistic disagreements, Wagner Lamounier left Sepultura in March 1985 and formed Sarcofago, the band's eternal rival. Their first EP, Bestial Devastation, was recorded in two days in a makeshift studio. In its first pressing, Bestial Devastation came out on a split album.
