Silmarils

Silmarils is a French rock band from Évry. The name is inspired by the title of the book The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. The band formed in 1989. In the following years, it performed in bars, festival fringes, etc. The band was spotted in 1995 by producer Peter Murray. It signed with Warner and released a first eponymous album. The video for the single Cours Vite, directed by Olivier Dahan, put porn stars in the spotlight for the first time. This first album became a gold record. A European tour of more than 150 dates was organized; Silmarils notably opened for Sugar Ray.
