Sons of Liberty

Sons of Liberty is a political heavy metal side project founded by Jon Schaffer (whose name is often misspelled "Shafer"), rhythm guitarist and main composer of the power metal band Iced Earth. Schaffer launched the project in 2009 to express his personal political philosophies, focusing on themes such as government corruption, freedom and the Federal Reserve. Unlike Iced Earth, where he mainly plays guitar, Schaffer handles both lead vocals and guitar within Sons of Liberty.
