Spiral Tower

Spiral Tower is a German Power Metal band formed in 1997 in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg with Alex Koch of Powergod on vocals. Named after the Psychotic Waltz song (one of the band's earliest influences), the history of Spiral Tower goes back to the early 1990s and to a quintet that recorded a demo under the name Variety Of Arts and later an album under the name Tragedy Divine. After that album, the band split, two of the members forming the less progressive and more traditional metal band Sacred Steel, and the other three recruiting new members and forming Spiral Tower. The 2000 album, Mindkiller, is a solid power metal album with some progressive tendencies (but not to the extent of their former influence Psychotic Waltz), with a sound far more rooted in American metal than their German counterparts.
