Website
Static-X is an American industrial metal band formed in 1994, originally from Los Angeles, California. The founders are singer and guitarist Wayne Static and drummer Ken Jay. The lineup gained popularity in 1999 with the release of Wisconsin Death Trip, an industrial metal album that drew interest in the emerging nu metal scene of the late 1990s and would be certified platinum in the United States. The band released five more albums over the following decade. Static-X then went on indefinite hiatus until a brief return in 2012 and its breakup in 2013. In November 2014, Wayne Static died at the age of 48. To pay tribute to their former friend, the remaining original members reunited in 2018 to release an album in 2019 with the final vocal parts recorded by Wayne Static. The album would be called "Project Regeneration".
