Styx

The band formed in the city of Chicago, Illinois, in the mid-1960s under the name The Tradewinds, with singer and keyboardist Dennis DeYoung, guitarist Tom Nardini and a rhythm section including the twin brothers Chuck Panozzo (bassist) and John Panozzo (drummer). Briefly changing its name to TW4, the band recruited the two guitarists James Young and John Curulewski to replace Nardini, and in 1972 they signed with the label Wooden Nickel Records, under the name Styx.
