Susperia

Susperia came into being in 1998, when Tjodalv, who was then the drummer in the symphonic Black metal band Dimmu Borgir, shared his ideas with Cyrus, who would take on the role of guitarist. Originally, the band was called Seven Sins, but when they discovered that another band bore that name, they decided to change it. They therefore chose the name Susperia in reference to the horror film Suspiria. They did, however, slightly change the spelling in order to avoid any copyright problems. Susperia released a first album, Predominance, recorded at Abyss Studios, on the Nuclear Blast label. The second album, Vindication, came out in 2002, still recorded at Abyss, and Susperia left Nuclear Blast, reproaching them for a lack of involvement in promotion. In 2003, they signed with 'TABU'.
