The Berzerker

The Berzerker was, at the outset, the solo project of DJ Luke Kenny. He founded The Berzerker in 1995, in Melbourne, Australia. He began by mixing tracks by Deicide and Morbid Angel, blending them with techno sounds. They recorded several EPs with different labels: Industrial Strength (United States), Speedcore (Germany) and Widerstand (Austria). In 1998, the English label Earache Records signed The Berzerker. The first album was to be made with the collaboration of David Vincent (Morbid Angel), Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth, Damaged), Dan Lilker (Brutal Truth, Nuclear Assault), Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad, Zimmer's Hole) and was to be produced at Devin Townsend's studio in Toronto. But Luke Kenny quickly realised that his vision of brutality did not match the spirit the label wanted to establish.
