The Exploited

The Exploited is a punk band, founded in June 1979 in East Kilbride, Scotland. Since the early 1990s, the band has incorporated elements of thrash metal into its music. Wattie Buchan is one of the first singers to sport a mohawk. The brutality and speed of the tracks made this band one of the influences of the thrash movement, inspiring Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, among others. In the early 1980s, The Exploited became one of the reference bands of punk. 1981: release of their very first album Punk's Not Dead, which climbed to 20th place in the charts in England. A few important anthems appear on this LP. In 1982 Troops of Tomorrow came out, with an apocalyptic cover. The tracks are short but effective. Nervous riffs, urgent rhythms, acid criticism of political institutions.
