U.D.O.

U.D.O. is a German heavy metal band founded by singer Udo Dirkschneider in 1987, following his split from the band Accept. Dirkschneider intended to continue in the continuity of Accept's original spirit, where the rest of that band preferred to take more commercial paths. To help him launch his solo career, the rest of Accept and the lyricist Deaffy offered him an entirely written album, Animal House, made up of Accept songs that had originally been recorded as demos, but judged too aggressive for a successor to Russian Roulette. In 2009, Dirkschneider refuses the reunion of Accept, being at present more active with U.D.O. than he had been with Accept. They then reunite with a new singer, Mark Tornillo.
