U.K.

UK is a British progressive rock band, originally from England. It formed in 1978 with two former King Crimson musicians, John Wetton on bass and vocals and Bill Bruford on drums, Allan Holdsworth on guitar (ex-Soft Machine and Pierre Moerlen's Gong) as well as Eddie Jobson on keyboards and violin (ex-Curved Air and ex-Frank Zappa). The band released its first album in 1978, before Holdsworth and Bruford left it. Only the latter was replaced by Terry Bozzio on drums, who had played with Zappa. Two albums followed, one live and one studio, before the band split up in 1979.
