Website
Uriah Heep is a British rock band, founded in 1969 (after having been called The Stalkers then Spice from 1967 to 1969). Thanks to albums of notable commercial success in the 1970s, the band knew success in Great Britain and continental Europe, but lesser success in the United States. The band's originality consists in marrying a guitarist with a hard sound (Mick Box), frequently using the wah-wah pedal, a singer with astonishing abilities (David Byron), readily employing vibrato, and an organist-pianist-guitarist, bringing a very subtle, melodic, progressive or folk touch, all enriched by choral orchestrations.
