Volbeat

Volbeat is a Danish metal band formed in 2001 in Copenhagen and known at first under the name Dominus. Their music is a blend of heavy metal and rockabilly, which is nicknamed Elvis Metal. This comes from their classic rock influences like Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash, but also from more contemporary bands like Metallica or Ac/Dc. All their studio albums are gold records in Denmark, and the fourth, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, which received unanimous positive reviews internationally, is also a gold record in Sweden. Their first appearance was under the name Dominus with a death metal label in 1991. Their penultimate album Vol.beat, released in 1997, would give rise to the band's future name. Singer Michael Poulsen, no longer being in tune with that music and that type of scene.
