Website
Whitesnake is a British hard rock band. The band was founded in 1977 by singer David Coverdale, ex-Deep Purple, and first found success in Europe and Japan before achieving resounding commercial success in the United States in the mid-1980s. David Coverdale is the only permanent member of the band, which has seen a great many lineup changes. During their early years, their music was a Blues-oriented hard rock. Initially, the members included Jon Lord and Ian Paice of Deep Purple. After significant changes in the band's lineup, Whitesnake released Slide it in in 1984, which would go platinum and which saw the arrival of John Sykes. But the biggest success would be Whitesnake / 1987, notably with the ballad Is This Love and the track Here I Go Again. This album made the band very popular in the United States.
