The Runaways

Los Angeles, 1975. Joan Jett is a rebellious teenager, firmly determined to break into the very male-dominated world of rock'n'roll. Through her manager, the eccentric Kim Fowley, she meets young singer Cherie Currie, drummer Sandy West, guitarist Lita Ford and bassist Robin Robins, with whom she forms the band The Runaways. Thanks to the meteoric success of the hit Cherry Bomb, the young girls become the first all-female rock band to reach the top of the charts. However, they will have a hard time coping with the backlash of fame. A tour of Japan will further heighten the tensions within the band.
