Devin Townsend

Devin Townsend, né le 5 mai 1972 à New Westminster, est un musicien multi-instrumentiste (entre autres chanteur, guitariste et claviériste) canadien. Il mène une carrière solo mais apparaît également sur de nombreux albums en tant qu'invité (Front Line Assembly, Paradise Lost, Ayreon, Gojira…) et/ou producteur (Soilwork, Lamb Of God, Bleeding Through, Gwar, Zimmer's Hole…). Il a aussi enregistré quelques demos en compagnie de Jason Newsted (alors dans Metallica) à travers IR8 (trio comprenant aussi Tom Hunting d'Exodus) et Tree Of The Sun (quatuor avec Scott Reeder de Kyuss et Dale Crover des Melvins).

Ziltoid

Coming from the concept album that bears his name, Ziltoid is a galactic dictator who threatens to destroy humanity if he isn't served the best cup of coffee in the world. Cruel but also a bit ridiculous, this alien was dreamed up by Devin Townsend out of a sock puppet, and he voices him on the album. The story doesn't stop there, since he got a second tale titled "Z²".
